HUSH
Released April 21, 2023 - SoundSpore Records
HUSH is an album of original music by contemporary jazz artists “Le Boeuf Brothers” (identical twins Pascal and Remy Le Boeuf) featuring longtime collaborators Dayna Stephens, Linda May Han Oh, and Christian Euman.
The album explores the extremes of quiet performance with close-miking resulting in a unique approach to composing for, and improvising as, an ensemble. Like a gentle whispered conversation, the music creates an atmosphere of warmth and airy intimacy.
The brothers explain, “We were feeling the need for something peaceful and expansive to take us to a different place, so we made an album that embodies that place.” The music is centered around themes of reunion, family, and the arrivals/departures of life that go alongside these.
Remy Le Boeuf - alto sax
Pascal Le Boeuf - piano
Dayna Stephens - tenor sax
Linda May Han Oh - bass
Christian Euman - drums
Imaginist
Released October 14, 2016 - New Focus Recordings / Panoramic Recordings
The Le Boeuf Brothers' most recent project, imaginist, is a collaboration with JACK Quartet, one of New York’s premier string quartets devoted to contemporary classical music. The album features a collection of longtime collaborators including tenor saxophonist Ben Wendel, bassists Ben Street and Martin Nevin, and drummers Justin Brown and Peter Kronreif.
Imaginist is structured to unfold like a book – complete with a prologue and epilogue. The term "imaginist" refers to the early 20th century Russian poetry movement characterized by sequences of arresting images and long chains of metaphors. Their fourth recording, imaginist, is available now on New Focus Recordings/Panoramic Recordings.

REMIXED
Released April 30, 2013 - Nineteen-Eight Records
A remix is an alternate version of a recording made by rebalancing, recombining or altering individual tracks. The art of remixing is most common in technology-oriented genres such as electronic music, but can certainly be applied to any recorded music, although it seems quite rare in jazz/improvised music. However, there is actually a fertile, underground scene comprised of jazz musicians who are closet DJs. Amongst them are identical twins, the Le Boeuf Brothers, saxophonist/composer Remy and pianist/composer Pascal, whose latest project fuses their New York jazz background with a fresh blend of electronica, trip-hop and drum 'n' bass to create the remix collaboration project, Le Boeuf Brothers Remixed (available April 30 on Nineteen-Eight Records); an intelligent, entertaining, voguish new work, based on their recent album, In Praise of Shadows (Nineteen-Eight Records). HOUSE WITHOUT A DOOR
Released May 12, 2009 - Le Boeuf Brothers Music
The article below was published in "All About Jazz" by BRUCE LINDSAY on July 21, 2009
"The New York-based brothers play well-crafted original tunes: all 12 of the pieces are written by either Remy or Pascal although, interestingly, none of them are co-compositions. Their style is mainly modern, straight-ahead jazz. While both brothers proclaim influences as disparate as Radiohead and Claude Debussy, these are not so upfront as to detract from the brothers' own styles. Although on some tracks, such as Remy's "Tabula Rasa," classical influences are obvious, most of the album owes more to the Le Boeufs' jazz predecessors than it does to those from other musical genres.
The brothers' writing and playing is technically skilled, but unlike many other young jazz musicians they also invest both with some genuine emotion and originality. As a result, the entire album has a maturity that is rare in players who are barely into their early twenties. Read More...
